Yin is a relaxed, passive style of yoga that involves holding poses, or asanas for longer durations and increasing your stretch to the edge of comfort and awaken inner awareness. This includes paying attention to your breath, thoughts, and body sensations. Yin yoga is taught through guided meditative prompts and cues. It does not matter your fitness or ability to exercise, through the incorporation of bolsters, pillow, towels, or rugs to support your limbs and joints and safeguard from injury. Every asana can and will be modified to each individual's needs. Yin yoga works with the parasympathetic nervous system (your need to fight or flight). Yin Yoga calms the mind and relaxes the body perfect for anyone wanting to just slow with benefit those dealing with trauma, injury, disease, emotional and physical pains to help you heal and experience a whole system calming and healing experience.
